CHIPPENHAM TOWN: Draw a tough one to take for Harris

ADIE Harris admitted the Chippenham Town dressing room felt hard done by as play-off chasers Barwell escaped Hardenhuish Park with a point on Saturday.

Barwell skipper Scott Hadland headed home an unlikely equaliser - the Leicestershire men's first effort on target - in the 86th minute, moments after Lee Phillips had fired the Bluebirds ahead from the penalty spot.

The draw extended Town's winless run to 14 matches - they are without a league success since December 1 - and midfielder Harris felt his team had scant reward for a committed display.

"We're really disappointed,'' said the former Bath City man who returned to the home line-up after suspension.

"That was their only chance really and we defended brilliantly.

"The back four and keeper (on-loan David Richards from Cardiff City) were brilliant and all through the pitch we looked really hungry, compared to recent weeks.''

The draw edged Chippenham away from the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division drop zone, but with a tough collection of fixtures to come, including back-to-back appointments at Arlesey (next Saturday) and Cambridge City (Tuesday), followed by the visit of league leaders Leamington on March 16.

But Harris is convinced better times lie just around the corner for Nathan Rudge's men, adding: "We've got a fully-fit squad now. Kitey (Alex Kite) has come back and I've come back in, we've had a few positional changes and everyone is fit.

"We could have won three or four-nil here really and we've just got to keep working.''
