OJO'S INSIDE LINE: Derby day occasion everybody wants to be part of

THIS week has probably been the toughest since I became head coach at Trowbridge – but in a good way.

I’ve been struggling with a selection headache for our top-of-the-table game with Devizes tomorrow, but it’s the sort of problem I’ve wished for.

A lot of players have put their hands up for this match – everyone wants to play in what will be the last home game at Green Lane.

Unfortunately, only 15 men can get on the park and only three can sit on the bench so it has meant some difficult decisions. We’ve got it all to do because Devizes are clear at the top of the table.

We’ve just got to go out there and do what we need to on the day. My hope for the day is that we get a strong official for the match.

Trowbridge versus Devizes is not a match for the faint-hearted at any time, but with everything surrounding the day, it will be important that somebody who is strong will be in the middle for it.

Hopefully we’ll get an entertaining match for everyone to enjoy.

As far as I’m concerned, that’s the big game of the weekend, although there are other matters to attend to, including England’s Six Nations clash with Italy at Twickenham.

For us, it’s nice that it’s the game on Sunday, although I wonder how many people will be thanking the organisers for scheduling it for Mother’s Day!

Bath too have a very important fixture this weekend, namely, their LV= Cup semi-final against Premiership champions Harlequins tomorrow afternoon.

The good thing from Bath’s point of view is that they are a side on form.

They beat Gloucester convincingly up at Kingsholm in the cup a few weeks back and then got the better of them in the Premiership last week.

They’ll have taken a lot of confidence from those games and the shackles are very much off for them now.

It’s not very often that you get this far in a cup competition and it would be wonderful progress for the club if they could take that next step and make it into a final.
