EVO-STIK LEAGUE SOUTHERN PREMIER DIVISION: Arlesey 4 Chippenham Town 0
5:21pm Saturday 9th March 2013 in Sport
CHIPPENHAM Town's relegation fears increased this afternoon as they were thrashed 4-0 at mid-table Arlesey.
Nathan Rudge's men, without a league win since December 1, collapsed in Bedfordshire to leave themselves just two points outside of the drop zone, with just nine games remaining.
The Bluebirds put in a solid first half away from home - they have not won on the road since late November - to go in at the interval all square at 0-0.
But within a minute of the restart it all went wrong for the Wiltshire men, when Drew Roberts scored the home side's opener.
Things went from bad to worse for Town four minutes later as Roberts fired home his - and his side's - second to double the advantage.
Arlesey ended any hopes of a visiting comeback on the hour mark as striker Chris Dillon scored the third.
And a miserable away day was compounded for Rudge's men in the dying moments as Kim Forsythe scored the fourth.
Chippenham go to play-off chasing Cambridge City on Tuesday evening.
