SWIMMING: Carlin claims second Leeds victory

WILTSHIRE swimmer Jazmin Carlin claimed her second gold medal of the British Gas International meet and her second Welsh record in Leeds today.

Two-time Commonwealth Games medallist Carlin, formerly a pupil at Wootton Bassett School, clocked a new mark of 16:18.80 as she came home in front nearly 10 seconds in front of Keri-Anne Payne and Ellie Faulkner.

It added to the title and Welsh record she achieved in the 800m earlier in the meet, Carlin being presented with her medal by long-time friend and former rivals Rebecca Adlington.

Elsewhere, Trowbridge ASC swimmer Chloe Davies, 14, claimed her fourth podium finish of the meet as she clocked 2:39.73 to finish behind Natalie Massey (Aquabears) in the womens mlti-classification 200m individual medley final.
