LITTLE Cheverell-based eventer Lucinda Fredericks will spend the next few days in hospital after suffering a fall at the Tweseldown event in Hampshire on Friday.

Australian Olympic rider Fredericks fell from Open Novice horse Rovello II during the cross country section, sustaining a broken collarbone and three broken ribs on her left side.

She was expected to learn today whether the collarbone required surgery.

A statement on the Team Fredericks website said: "Lucinda will spend the next 3-4 days in hospital following her fall at Tweseldown yesterday (Friday) during the cross country phase on Rovello.

"Lucinda wanted to thank everyone for the lovely messages of support she has been receiving since her fall (and) looks forward to getting back to Rosegarth in the middle of next week.''
