NICK Blackwell could be on his way to a third crack at the British middleweight title after being lined up for an eliminator against former Prizefighter champ Prince Arron.

The British Boxing Board of Control announced today that Trowbridge's Blackwell, who challenged Martin Murray in June 2011 and Billy Joe Saunders in December last year, has been given the green light for a British eliminator contest against Lancashire man Arron.

Arron, 25, won the Prizefighter light-middleweight tournament in February 2010 and the Droylsden man, who has won 23, lost four and drawn one of his 28 professional fights, is a former British light-middleweight title holder.

The Contender Gym's Blackwell, 22, was last in action earlier this month when he out-pointed Ruslans Pojonisevs in a six-round contest in Trowbridge, taking his record to 13-2.

The British Boxing Board of Control are currently welcoming purse bids for Blackwell-Arron, with the fight to take place before the end of June.
