BRADFORD on Avon paddlers Ed McKeever and Hannah Brown suffered medal disappointment on the final day of the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Germany today.

London 2012 Olympic champion McKeever finished sixth in the final of the men's K1 200m in Duisberg.

McKeever clocked 35.042 in the final, which was won by Sweden's Petter Ostrom (34.644), with Canada's Mark De Jonge second in 34.674 and Spain's Saul Craviotto Rivero third in 34.896.

Meanwhile, Brown and partner Jessica Walker were seventh in the K2 200m final, clocking 39.180 as the gold medal was won by Germany's Franziska Weber and Tina Dietze.

McKeever and Brown also finished out of the medals with their British teammates in the K1 200m relay events, Britain finishing fourth and sixth respectively.
