EQUESTRIAN: Dunn forced out of Europeans
11:53am Tuesday 3rd September 2013 in Sport
WILTSHIRE rider Danielle Dunn has been forced to pull out of the British team for the FEI Young Rider European Championships in France next week.
Purton rider Dunn, 20, was forced to withdraw mount Zorcala from the event at Haras de Jardy, which starts next Thursday, because of a minor injury.
Chairman of the Young Rider selection committee Alex Colquhoun said: “For the second time in three years we are deeply saddened to lose Danielle Dunn from the Young Rider squad due to a minor injury sustained by her mount Zorcala.
"We wish Danielle the best of luck for the future along with a speedy recovery for the mare.”
Somerset's Millie Dumas, 21, and horse Artistiek replace them, with the team still including Reybridge rider David Doel and Richosea.
Colquhoun added: "We welcome David’s experience back to the squad this year having shown us in 2012 how capable he was of handling tricky situations and feeding back very informative views as the lead rider.”
