FOOTBALL ROUND-UP: Frome sent packing in the cup
8:48am Thursday 19th September 2013 in Sport
FROME Town bombed out of the FA Cup last night as they were thrashed by Isthmian League opponents Bognor Regis Town in their first qualifying round replay.
Derek Graham's side travelled to Sussex off the back of snatching a 1-1 draw against Bognor at Badgers Hill on Saturday but the Robins were second best at Nyewood Lane, with Harvey Whyte putting the hosts ahead in the 37th minute as he slotted home after Frome failed to clear their lines.
Ollie Pearce netted Bognor's second of the evening five minutes later before Ben Godfrey stroked home the Rocks' third in the second period, with substitute Terry Dodd finishing off the rout in the 79th minute.
Meanwhile, Melksham Town were unable to put the brakes on unbeaten Larkhall Athletic as they were well-beaten in the Toolstation League Premier Division last night.
Rob Hobbs fired Larkhall ahead after Tyler Sibbick's penalty was saved in the first half before Ben Horan struck to double the hosts' lead, with Sibbick grabbing their third.
Striker Sam Jordan continued to light up the First Division as he hit his fourth hat-trick of the season in Bradford Town's 6-0 demolition of Roman Glass St George.
Jordan took his tally to 20 goals from ten matches in all competitions, with Tom Welch netting a brace and Beau Blakeman also getting himself on the scoresheet for the unbeaten league leaders.
