CALOR LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Frome won’t rush into appointment
FROME Town hope to complete their interviews for the vacant manager’s position at Badgers Hill today.
The Robins have been on the hunt for a new boss since sacking Derek Graham late last week and stopped accepting formal applications for the role on Monday.
Goalkeeper coach Lloyd Chamberlain has been in caretaker charge of Frome since Graham’s departure and presided over the a second successive victory in the Calor League Premier Division as the Robins beat Hitchin Town last weekend.
Secretary Ian Pearce revealed Chamberlain has not thrown his hat into the ring for the permanent manager’s job.
“Lloyd has spoken to the board and he’s said that he’s just happy to get through what he’s going at the moment. He’s doing a brilliant job too,” said Pearce.
“We had a board meeting on Monday to draw up a shortlist, and from there we’ve been conducting interviews this week.
“We had a good response to the advert and a wide range of managers applied for the job. Some of those have experience at a higher level.
“We should have spoken to everyone by the end of the week and then it’s up to us to make a decision. We won’t be rushing that though as we want to get the right man for the job.”
Aaron Ledigster and Rhys Baggride scored as Frome won 2-1 at Hitchin Town last weekend.
- Striker Ryan Laville, who lives in Cardiff, has left the Robins to join Welsh outfit Merthyr Town.
