CHIPPENHAM Town tonight confirmed the signing of former Swindon Town and Torquay United striker Lloyd Macklin from Farnborough.

Macklin mde his debut in tonight's 3-1 Calor League Southern Premier Division defeat at AFC Totton.

The 22-year-old travelled with the Bluebirds to Corby Town last weekend and also took part in the pre-match warm-up before watching his potential new side draw 2-2 in Northamptonshire.

Collier wrapped up the signing from Conference South Farnborough allowing Macklin to pull on the blue shirt for the first time tonight.

Macklin made 15 first team appearances for Swindon after coming through the County Ground youth system and also featured more than 20 times for Torquay United.

He was released by the League Two Gulls last summer and has most recently run out for Isthmian League outfit Cray Wanderers.
