CHIPPENHAM & DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE DIVISION TWO PREVIEW: Southwick aim to be top at Christmas

MATT Rusling will take his Southwick Wanderers side to Calne for their second meeting of the season with Talbot FC in the knowledge that should they beat their hosts for a second time in just over a month they will be top of the table going into 2014.

Southwick edged a seven-goal thriller when the sides met in November.

A month after they beat fellow relegation battlers AFC Avellinos, Pete Huntley will take his Potterne side to Stanley Park for the return fixture and with no win in eight games it is hard to see Avellinos turning things around.

IWaiting for Southwick to slip up are a Miller Sports A side, who this time last term were floundering at the foot of the table but a year on are challenging for a top two finish.

Mike Stevens' men travel to Fortune Inn knowing that nothing less than a win will be good enough if they are to keep pace with both the leaders and FC Buscots who are without a game.

Local rivals GRFC and Sutton Benger are currently in the bottom half of the table, but their fixture could be one of the matches of the day.
