WITH all but one game in Division Two being lost to the weather, Southwick Wanderers will head into 2014 as table toppers.

At the other end of the table, Sutton Benger will feel a lot happier after they eased their own relegation worries by coming out on top in a 10-goal thriller at GRFC.

The match, that was tipped to produce goals, didn’t disappoint as Benger took the spoils courtesy of a nail-biting 6-4 success.

Benger were 4-1 up at the interval thanks to goals from James Weston who opened the scoring, Mark Merriman and two from Rhys Merriman with GRFC’s reply coming from Sam Myles.

GRFC may have outscored Benger in the second half but goals for Mike Jenkins and Matt Jenkins plus a second from Myles who scored from the penalty spot were not enough for Tam Laidlaw’s side.

A goal apiece for Nathan Farrell and Luke Watson made up Benger’s half dozen as they eventually saw off a spirited challenge from GRFC to give them their first win in five outings.
