PAUL James concedes that referee Martin Fox made the right decision in sending him to the sin-bin during Bath’s 43-25 Aviva Premiership defeat at the hands of Northampton Saints last weekend.

The Welsh international was shown a yellow card midway through the first half for collapsing a Saints maul on the Bath tryline, with the hosts making the most of the man advantage to bring the Rec men’s eleven-match winning run to an end.

But James thinks that this weekend’s clash with champions Leicester Tigers could be the perfect encounter for his side to get back on song.

"The ref made a call. As a player, I don’t feel it was a yellow but it’s the ref’s decision and he’s got the authority to do that,” said James.

"It was what it was and we just had to get on with it and move on.

"We’re obviously disappointed about going up there and losing but we’ve gone away, looked at it and pinpointed one or two points to focus on this week and try and get back on our run and keep improving as a team.

"They beat us out wide a few times, which was disappointing, and I think we switched off once or twice, which you can’t do against quality teams like Northampton.

"Some parts of the game went well and at the end of the day, we did score 25 points up there. But we let ourselves down in other areas and now we’re focussing on putting those things right and improving.

"We’re just focussing on one game at a time. Okay, we were on a nice run but we played Northampton and they’re a good team on their home patch.

"There’s no better challenge to bounce back and make up for the mistakes last week than going to play the Tigers up there.

"There’s no better team to play the week afterwards and hopefully we can bounce back."
