WESTBURY Harriers runner Scott Campbell clinched victory in the 2013 instalment of the Plain Crazy near Warminster last Sunday.
A field of 85 completed the 12-mile event which took in the village of Imber and areas of Salisbury Plain for the annual event, with Campbell emerging as a clear winner.
He clocked one hour and six minutes exactly to finish 41 seconds clear of his nearest rivals, Stephen Rose, of Team Bath.
Rose came home 16 seconds ahead of Mornington Chasers’ Thomas Craggs in third and also won the male veteran 40 category.
Team Bath’s David Vaudin finished seventh overall in 1:13.37 to take home the male veteran 50 prize, with Warminster runner Henry Eagan second in that category after finishing 12th in 1:16.46.
Yeovil Town RRC’s Richard Bolter was first male veteran 60 in 15th overall (1:19.04).
Holly Eagan led home the women, finishing 31st overall in a time of 1:24.52.
She was comfortably clear of Heather Weavill in 1:27.18, who was 35th overall and claimed the ladies veteran 40 prize.
Westbury Harriers’ Shirley Hume (36th in 1:27.30) and Bitton RR’s Janet Brown (44th in 1:30.05) were first ladies veteran 60 and 50 respectively.
