SOUTHWICK Wanderers' attempt to regain top spot in Division Two ended in disappointment after they were surprisingly beaten 4-2 at home by a Potterne CFC for whom it was only their third win in eight outings.

Craig Townsend saw his opener for Potterne chalked out by the hosts who equalised after good work by Jack Parker. The visitors got their noses back in front by half time with Neil Clark putting them into a 2-1 lead.

After the interval, Southwick restored parity for a second time in the game, Parker crossing for Stuart Powell to head home and make it 2-2.

Wayne House regained the lead for Potterne before Southwick had Naseem Abrouachid sent off for a late tackle and with the one man advantage Potterne pushed on an grabbed their fourth of the game which came courtesy of a second Craig Townsend.
