WHITE Horse B went into their Division Four match at home to Melksham Forest Community Centre hopeful of ending their 10-match winless run.

Chris Webber’s side, who had beaten their guests 5-4 in the Knockout Cup were right to be confident as history repeated itself with Webber’s men claiming a 4-0 victory to leave them celebrating a long overdue win.

Josh Nichols' goal on 20 minutes separated the sides at half time. Simon Hillman planted home the hosts second two minutes after the restart and when Jy Brimble turned the ball home after a goal mouth scramble on 57 minutes it was job done but to add interest to their win, Paul Bendell scored from the penalty spot on 75 minutes after a foul on Adam Griggs.

Bath Road 6 Cavalier 1

WITH leaders Corsham Centre Youth in cup action and second-placed Bremhill View Boys without a game, Bath Road moved into second spot after the defeated Cavalier FC 6-1.

The match that was moved from Vallens Terrace in Box to Leafy Lane at the 11th hour wasn’t the one-sided affair that the result may suggest it was as Cavalier played their part in an entertaining game that saw them make their hosts work hard for their win.

A James Hernandez double put Bath Road 2-0 up at the break.Matt White added goals three and four before Mike Land reduced the arrears for Cavalier but it did little to stem the flow of goals for Bath Road as top scorer Matt White completed his hat-trick to make it 5-1 with his 17th goal of the season.

Ryan Hopkins completed the half dozen for Bath Road, who closed within 10 points of Corsham Centre Youth and put themselves in with the best chance of the chasing pack who want what is likely to be the second automatic promotion spot.

Oakhill FC 4 The Mallard FC 3

IT WAS almost a case of deja-vu for Oakhill in their reverse clash with The Mallard who had beaten them 3-2 earlier in the season.

When the sides last met Oakhill threw away a two-goal lead before losing on this occasion they also surrendered a two goal lead but were able to fightback and claim a 4-3 win in what was another thriller between the sides.

Callum Eacott scored the first two goals for Oakhill only for them to undo all their hard work as goals from Mark Frost and Jason Dawson got Mallard on level terms.

A third from Eacott saw him restore Oakhill lead but back came Mallard before the break and Andy Adams netted to tie things at three apiece to set up eagerly awaited second 45 minutes.

The second half may not have reached the highs of the first but both teams had chances to get on the score sheet before Jordan Tarrant bagged was proved to be the winner for an Oakhill side.
