THE only Division Two match that beat the weather was the one featuring Heytesbury and Worton & Cheverell.

Originally scheduled for The Lye, the fixture was switched to Heytesbury Park where the teams met in the first of back-to-back fixtures and it is the former who will go into next week's reverse clash full of confidence after taking maximum points thanks to a 2-0 success.

Neither team were able to fashion a breakthrough in a first half of very few chances with the deadlock being broken on 54 minutes with Jamie Howse scoring from the penalty spot to give the hosts the lead.

Heytesbury sealed their victory on 72 minutes when Joe Martin doubled their advanatge and things should have been a little easier for Martyn Spratt’s side a minute later when Howse fired his second spot kick of the afternoon yards over the bar.

But despite the miss it didn’t prove costley as the home team can look forward to next weeks return clash knowing that second division surviaval should be secured.
