FOLLOWING the total wipeout of last Sunday’s Division Two league programme, it is hoped that teams will make a welcomed return to action this weekend, with the pick of the three matches being the one at the Melksham Oak Community School, where leaders Miller Sports A entertain second-in-the-table Southwick Wanderers.

A win for Mike Stevens' hosts would almost certainly end Southwick’s hopes of claiming promotion but like this season's first meeting of the sides, which finished 3-3, this has draw written all over to leave both teams in the mix for a top two finish.

AFC Avellinos, who were on the brink of calling it a day after they were unable to raise a team for last weeks trip to FC Buscots, have decided to give things another go and with local rivals Fortune Inn FC next up, the game will see just how serious the players are in helping manager Pete Rees in completing their season’s commitments.

Avellinos suffered a 6-1 loss in the reverse game and a similar result could be on the cards at Stanley Park.

Having missed out on a game last weekend, both FC Buscots and Talbot FC should be keen for a return to action, particularly the latter, who have not kicked a ball since they drew with Potterne at the start of December.

Buscots, who were disappointed with the no show of Avellinos last week, will be hoping that their Nurstead Road ground is passed fit and the points should remain in Devizes as Mark Camacho’s side chase win number 5.
