WHAT SHOULD be one of the games of the day sees Division One leaders Prestige Bodyworks travel to second-placed Somerford for what could be seen as a possible title-decider.

Somerford are just one point behind Prestige but have played one game fewer so this is a must-win clash forthe visitors if they are to maintain their slender lead over Spike Chandler’s villagers.

What should be a fascinating contest between what appears to be two evenly-matched sides has a real chance of finishing with honours shared, which will keep the promotion race going right to the wire.

Corsham CC Wildcats were on top form in their last outing as they cruised to a 9-3 win over Staverton and Scott Fleming will look for his team to hit the goal trail for a second successive week when they visit fellow cricketers Goatacre CC, who are looking to end a five-match winless run.

This will be the first time the teams have met this season and if things go to form, then it should be the Wildcats who chalk up another victory and three points that would edge them closer to a top three finish.

Before the rain started to fall and disrupt their fixture programme both North Star A and White Horse (Sunday) A had seen an improvement in their fortunes, with the former losing just once in four games and the latter losing just one of eleven league outings.

The reverse encounter ended with the White Horse romping to a 10-1 win, but a new-look Star side will be hopeful of revenge when the two sides go head-to-head at Beversbrook.

However they are unlikely to get it as the visitors to Calne ought to complete a double over their hosts.
