Manager Mark Collier thought that his side 'won ugly' this afternoon.
He said: "Obviously, it wasn't the greatest performance – the pitch isn't one that we're comfortable having our passing game played on.
"It was a game that we needed to win ugly and grind out a result, and we've managed to do that, on the back of a few changes as well.
"There were a few confusing decisions and the referee doesn't explain what's going on. (Togwell) has gone right through Griff's pad two-footed in the first half and we're expecting something to come from that but we haven't had anything.
"But when things go against you and you don't get decisions, you have to work even harder to get a result.
"Winning ugly was the order of the day and we have to have both sides to our game – hopefully we've proved that we can scrap and fight and do it in difficult circumstances."
Collier also paid tribute to skipper Alan Griffin's spectacular winner.
"It was a fantastic strike and where we were sat in the dugout, you could see that it was going in as soon as it left his foot," said the Bluebirds boss.
"Credit to him because his work-rate deserves goals like that – two minutes from the end, he's chasing the full-back 60 yards up the line to stop us having to defend a cross into the box.
"So credit to him and he's got his reward with a fantastic goal."
And that brings today's action to an end as Chippenham notch up back-to-back wins.
It was an exciting clash, settled by a wonder-goal from the Bluebirds' Alan Griffin, and perhaps the most pleasing aspect for Collier will be that the hosts were denied a few decisions by the referee that could have given them an advantage, and still battled their way to three points.
Chippenham are hitting a bit of form, and are in action again next Tuesday evening, when they travel to Arlesey Town
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 2 BURNHAM 1
It's all become a bit niggly towards the end but the Bluebirds still lead 2-1
We're into added time now
So a great response to losing their lead from the home side - a real scorcher from Griffin makes it 2-1.
It's all gone a bit scrappy after the restart though
Jake Simpson comes off for Iain Harvey
But Chippenham hit back and what a way to do it! It's a piece of magic from Alan Griffin as the big striker controls an aerial ball and loops a stunning half-volley into the side-netting from range.
Keeper Lawrence is a spectator as Griffin's superb strike flies past him
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 2 BURNHAM 1
Ben John and Burnham's Nicke Kabamba are both booked and the visiting striker could easily have seen red.
Driver's shot is palmed away by the Bluebirds goalie and he tangles with the Burnham striker. John shoves his opponent but crucially, Kabamba kicks out whilst he's on the ground.
Referee Glyde doesn't see the kick though and cautions both for their part in the handbags!
The visitors had been creating the off half-chance but now it's game on - can the Bluebirds respond?
And just like that, the visitors level things up from a set-piece. Upward's free-kick from deep floats all the way to the far post and Lewis Driver gets up to head home, with his effort deflecting in at the near post off a blue shirt
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 1 BURNHAM 1
Burnham threaten - Kabamba floats a cross to the far post and Lewis Driver rises well but can't angle his header on goal, with the effort dropping wide of the post
Griffin stoops his head to flick a ball on and gets a boot to the face for his troubles! He looks fine to continue
Dean heads down to Griffin and the striker returns the ball to the midfielder with a sublime flick.
Dean is through on goal but there's a bobble as he flicks goalwards and the effort flies over!
Burnham play a long, cross-field ball and the Chippenham defence think Hippolyte is offside but the linesman's flag stays down.
The winger cuts into the box and gets a shot away but it's charged down by Tindle
McClennan's cross is cleared and Dean pounces on the loose ball to set-up Monks of the edge of the area.
The Bluebirds man has a swing with his weaker right foot and his strike loops narrowly over the bar
Burnham almost fashion a chance to get back in the game - a superb lofted pass from Hippolyte picks out striker Nicke Kabamba but he just can't bring it down in the box
So the Bluebirds make the perfect start to the second period - it was a good finish from Dean too
Chippenham take the lead 20 seconds after the break!
Griffin works the ball on to Phillips just inside the area and the striker flicks into the path of the arriving Rob Dean, who sweeps home over the head of the Burnham keeper to break the deadlock!
That's six goals in a Chippenham shirt for Dean since his move from Swindon Supermarine
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 1 BURNHAM 0
We're back underway with a goal!
And that brings the first half to a close.
It's been a good game at Hardenhuish Park and there have been big chances for both sides - Dean's header for Chippenham and that penalty shout for the challenge on Griffin whilst Couch should really have put the visitors in front.
It was goalless at this stage last week, with the Bluebirds going on to take the bull by the horns against Bashley. Can they do it all over again?
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 BURNHAM 0
It should really be 1-0 Burnham but winger Couch fluffs his lines at the vital moment!
A superb ball round the back of the Chippenham defence plays in the Blues man and he jinks left and right, tying his markers in knots as he bursts towards goal.
Couch looks certian to find the net but loses his balance and blazes his finish over the bar from close range!
Griffin holds the ball up well and chests down into the path of McClennan but the Bluebirds man can't quite wrap his foot around the ball and skews his shot wide of the near post
Around six minutes to go til half-time here at Hardenhuish Park.
It's been a well-contested game so far. The Bluebirds have had chances and could well have taken the lead early on but Burnham have had their moments too and their wide man have looked particularly dangerous.
It's still goalless at the moment
From Upward's free kick, Hippolyte touches goalwards but John holds on to his tame effort
Beeden and Phillips link-up and the ball is worked out to McClennan on the left wing.
The winger crosses to the far post and Dean arrives to head across the face of goal, but his effort flies wide of the mark
Up the other end, Dean almost gets in but keeper Lawrence rushes off his line bravely
It's very much even stevens at the moments but Burnham could have taken the lead.
Hippolyte goes down after being nicked by Beeden and as the ball breaks free, midfielder Togwell curls a sublime strike right right into the top corner - but play had been stopped and it won't count!
From the resulting free-kick, defender Tom Willment isn't far off-target with a low, driven effort
Monks skips past an opponent and sees his name up in lights as he goes for goal from range but the effort is high, wide and all but handsome
Burnham's Myles Hippolyte latches on to Beeden's short header and unleashes a curling strike from distance but Ben John holds on to the ball easily enough
McClennan goes for goal but his shot smacks against defender Tom Willment
There was a slight delay as referee Glyde looked as though he'd somehow taken a whack on the head.
But after stopping play for a moment, he's fine to continue
Meanwhile, straight up the other end, Aaron Couch has an effort on goal and isn't far wide with a lofted effort
Togwell got some of the ball but a two-footed, reckless challenge is a foul anywhere else on the pitch, no?
Burnham's Jon Munday was booked for diving in on Griffin earlier in that phase of play
Chippenham are up in arms as they might well have a penalty! McClennan plays in Griffin, who skips past a defender and drives into the box.
Lee Togwell launches in two-footed on the Bluebirds striker but referee Steve Glyde doesn't see anything wrong with it, and gives a corner
Chippenham so close to taking the lead with their first attack of the game.
Monks swings in a free-kick and Dean loops a header goalwards, which keeper Adam Lawrence tips away well - it's a very good save from the Burnham goalie
Burnham's Ryan Upward goes in hard on Simpson early doors, with his studs up.
It's one of those challenges that usually results in a booking if it isn't the first foul of the match
So the formation is a bit different to what I predicted! Simpson is partnering Dean in the heart of midfield, with Pete Monks on the left wing and McClennan on the right.
Smith partners Tindle in central defence whilst Beeden is left-back
And we're off!
Chippenham to kick us off, going from right-to-left
And out they come at Chippenham!
As always, the dressing room music is pumping at Hardenhuish Park, meaning that the two teams are on their way into the tunnel
So Collier shuffles the pack with a few changes for today's clash.
Defender Beeden is expected to slot into the heart of the back line alongside Greg Tindle whilst Simpson could operate on the left wing.
But I understand that the midfielder does prefer to operate centrally, so he could form a three alongside Rob Dean and Bryan Smith, with Joe McClennan in behind the front two.
The two sides are just on their way back into the dressing rooms - stick with Bluebirds Live for all of the action as it happens

The teams are in and the main piece of team news for the Bluebirds is that midfielder Jake Simpson is handed a start by Collier.
The former Swindon Town youngster has yet to feature for Chippenham. Beeden comes in to the back line also, so a there's a handful of opportunities that have been handed out today
We'll bring you this afternoon's teams when we get them
For the Bluebirds, there'll be no Aaron Oakley today after the defender returned to parent club Swindon Town upon the expiration of his loan.
Meanwhile, striker Luke Hopper looks to have brought his spell at Hardenhuish Park to an abrupt end as he nears a move back to former side Hungerford Town.
James Guthrie is suspended but Iain Harvey (pictured) makes his return from injury, with Jon Beeden also coming back itno the Chippenham squad
This afternoon's visitors come in to today's return clash in wretched form – Burnham have lost five of their last six, losing 7-2 at Cambridge City and avoiding defeat just once in that run as they were held by Bashley, who, of course, Mark Collier's men beat 2-0 this time seven days ago.
Back in October, the Bluebirds made the trip to Buckinghamshire to take on last season's Calor League Division One Central champions Burnham and suffered an afternoon to forget as they were thrashed 4-1.
Tuesday night's ominous trip to league leaders Hemel Hempstead Town was rained off but we're worlds apart this afternoon as the sunshine beams down on Hardenhuish Park
