CHIPPENHAM Town slipped to a fourth successive defeat on the road tonight as they were edged out at mid-table Arlesey.

Mark Collier'e Bluebirds, who beat Burnham 2-1 at Hardenhuish Park last weekend, fell to an early goal in Bedfordshire, with Stuart Farrell firing home from range after fellow striker Hallelujah Basmel had pressurised keeper Ben John in the box.

Defeat sees Chippenham remain three points behind Saturday's vanquished opponents Burnham in 20th position in the Calor League Premier Division.

The Bluebirds are on the road again next weekend when they make the trip to bottom-of-the-table Bedford Town.
