STAVERTON’s Danny Sergiu is aiming to notch up a hat-trick of victories in Bristol next month – all using the same kick.

The 25-year-old, who runs the Collision Fight Academy, beat Swansea’s Dave Johnson with a punishing left kick to the head in December last year and the Wiltshire muay thai fighter repeated that feat in Bournemouth last weekend to stop Ziggy Horie, from the King Tiger gym, in the second round.

Sergiu is set for a re-match against professional boxer Faheem Khan, who he knocked out in May 2012, at Mayns Promotions’ Thaiboxing Fight Night at Bristol’s Patchway Sports Centre on April 5 and is targeting a unique three-timer.

“I didn't think about it until one of my mates pointed out as a joke that I might get a hat trick if I win my next fight with the same kick,” said Sergiu.

“I think winning three fights in a row by knockout is easily achieved by many, but to finish your opponents with exactly the same technique every time is something else.

“It’s a bit of a grudge match too, so I’m looking forward to it.

“I was really happy to win last weekend too and I want to dedicate this win to my Grandad Peter, who sadly passed away one week before my fight, and also to my beautiful daughter Willow, who I haven't seen for about four or five weeks now.”

Collision Fight Academy train at Dynamik Bodyz gym in Westbury and Sergiu is backed by Team Breakthrough Health & Performance Centre, BadBoy Supplements, Melksham Scaffolding, Lee Tilley Carpentry and Jason Regler.
