DIVISION One leaders Prestige Bodyworks were given a huge boost to their title hopes as a 4-2 victory over Kings Arms (All Cannings), coupled with defeats for their closest challengers Staverton and Somerford FC, means that Tyrone Prades' side have opened up a healthy five-point lead over their rivals at the summit.

A first goal of the season for John Stockman gave Kings Arms the lead which was cancelled out by a first of the campaign from Craig Fisher, who lashed home a stunning 20 yarder to square things up for Prestige who then went in front courtesy of Tom Bentley’s deflected header which gave him his first for the club.

After the break, Simon Drewitt got Kings Arms back on level terms before goals from Mark Nolan and Ryan Peck secured Prestige their tenth win to date.

Chippenham West End 6 Somerford FC 0

TITLE hopefuls Somerford suffered a blow to their hopes of finishing top of the table after they were sensationally beaten by basement side Chippenham West End whose 6-0 victory was their first league win in 16 attempts this term.

Somerford, who beat the West End 8-2 earlier this year, found themselves 3-0 down at half time to goals from Scott Nash who scored twice and Steve Coleman.

Further goals from Ben Hibberd, Lewis Ryan and a third from Scott Nash saw West End complete a long overdue win.

Staverton FC 0 North Star A 5

NORTH Star A continued their impressive revival of late with a 5-0 victory away at a Staverton side who had beaten them 5-3 back in September.

Matt Lang’s goal separated the teams at the interval before the Star moved through the gears in the second period to bag another four goals that gave them a fourth straight win.

Ollie Moore made it 2-0 before Lang scored his second of the morning. Aaron Hopkins and Mark Dolman completed the scoring.
