DIVISION Three basement side Wren FC ended their eight match losing run that stretched back to mid October thanks to a 2-1 victory over Worton & Cheverell that boosted their hopes of staying in the division.

Andy Waller gave Wren a half-time lead which was cancelled out by Ben Tylee who dragged Worton level before Waller continued his good run of form by grabbing his second and Wren second of the game to secure the relegation threatened side a much needed victory.

IT WAS a case of deja-vu for North Star B and Trowbridge Town Supporters Club when they met at Beversbrook, the sides who drew 3-3 earlier in the season fought out another thrilling stalemate that ended with an identical score line to their first meeting.

Trowbridge, who last played in December, trailed 1-0 at the interval to a Karl Sharratt goal but they were on level terms shortly after the restart when Dean Coles restored parity.

North Star regained the lead courtesy on a Karl Sharratt penalty and the increased their lead to 3-1 via a second penalty of the morning again scored by Sharratt that completed his hat-trick.

The supporters’ club fought back well and reduced the arrears through Dave Strickland and when they were awarded a penalty of their own Sean O’Brien kept his cool to fire home from 12 yards to give returning boss Kevin Williams a shared of the points.
