INJURED Chippenham Town midfielder Rob Dean revealed that he received a ‘get well soon’ message from Hungerford Town’s Ian Herring after suffering his horrific knee injury in last week’s clash at Bulpitt Lane.

The 24-year-old has been in Swindon’s Great Western Hospital since sustaining a dislocated knee in a challenge with former Bluebirds man Herring in last Tuesday’s abandoned game.

Dean was expected to go under the knife today, but this afternoon he tweeted to say that the surgery had been put back to Thursday afternoon.

He also said that Herring’s Hungerford manager Bobby Wilkinson had also been in touch to offer his support.

Dean, from Swindon, says that he has been overwhelmed by the messages of support he has received since suffering his injury and is looking forward to returning home as soon as possible.

“It’s been really boring and I haven’t moved since after the first night I got here,” said the Chippenham man.

“I’ve just been reading and trying to sleep to pass the time. Hopefully everything will go well when I go down to theatre and I can get back home – Wednesday will probably come too early but hopefully on Thursday or Friday.

“I know that I’ll just be sitting around at home again but it’ll be nice to at least get some different food and things like that.”
