BLUEBIRDS boss Mark Collier is calling on his players to dig deep when they look to stand up to Calor League Premier Division league leaders Hemel Hempstead Town tomorrow night.

Chippenham Town travel to Hertfordshire tomorrow (kick-off 7.45pm) off the back of Saturday's disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Biggleswade Town and Collier knows that the odds will be well against his team.

“You go there as underdogs if you're in good form so to go there on the back of three defeats and a very poor performance (on Saturday) means that it's not one that we should be looking forward to,” said the Hardenhuish Park chief.

“We go there without a prayer, I would imagine, but hopefully we can get a reaction from Saturday's poor first half and there will be changes.

“They've got a big squad and some very good attacking players. They've scored goals for fun and they'll be targetting another three points in their quest for the title.

“I'd imagine they'll be licking their lips at getting their hands on us but we've got to go there, be men, and stand up to it.

“What I'm looking for is a positive performance and if we get that, we'll be some way to erasing the memory of last weekend.”
