FISH proved hard to tempt in the Chippenham match fished at Pockeridge on Sunday, writes COLIN SCULL.
Top honours on the day went to Ian Liddell, of Chippenham, with an all roach catch weighing 14 lb 8 oz.
Kevin Williams, from Chippenham, was runner up spot with 12 lb 3 oz of carp and roach, followed by Mark Wooldridge, from Chippenham, with 11 lb 15 oz 8 dm of carp.
Other placings: 4. George Hobbs Chippenham 8 lb 11 oz 8 dm; 5. Martin Dolman Calne 6 lb 3 oz; 6. Steve Palmer Chippenham 6 lb 0 oz.
THE Wilts Angling Open match fished at Viaduct Fishery on Sunday produced outstanding sport with carp feeding well.
Top honours went to Jamie Smith, from Frome, with 207 lb 3 oz of carp.
He was followed by Ian Willetts, from Bradford, with 158 lb 3 oz of carp and Roland Lucas, from Frome, took third prize with a carp catch weighing 135 lb 3 oz.
Other placings: 4. Kevin Rowles Devizes 134 lb 12 oz; 5. Dave Bancroft Trowbridge 86 lb 10 oz; 6./ Terry Niblett Weymouth 86 lb 6 oz.
