CHIPPENHAM Town's home clash with Banbury United on April 12 is likely to kick off at 3.07pm after the Calor League revealed their planned tribute to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

96 Liverpool supporters were killed in an enclosed, overcrowded terrace during an FA Cup semi-final tie at Sheffield Wednesday's ground on April 15, 1989.

And the Calor League looks set to mimic the FA's tribute of delaying all kick-offs during April 11-14, including Premier League, Football League, Conference and FA Cup games, by seven minutes.

In an e-mail sent out to clubs, the league said: "On 15th April 1989, 96 Liverpool supporters lost their lives at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough Stadium at an FA Cup Semi Final tie.

"To mark the 25th Anniversary, and by way of showing our respect, the league would like to encourage all member clubs to kick off their league match on Saturday 12th April at 3.07pm, preceded by a minute’s silence.

"You will be joining many other matches around the country who are showing their support and respect. The FA has given the green light for an alteration to kick off times from 3.00pm and therefore the league would appreciate your participation."

Fresh inquests into the deaths of the 96 fans killed during the 1989 tragedy began yesterday after the High Court quashed the original accidental death verdicts, which had stood for more than 20 years, in 2012.
