WITE Horse A missed out on the chance to leapfrog their rivals Somerford FC in the Division One promotion race after they were held to a 2-2 draw at home by a Corsham CC Wildcats.
Wildcats actually had the lead with just a couple of minutes remaining, so a point for Clive Black’s side rather than three lost may yet see them claim an automatic place in the top flight for next season.
Tom Lye put the Wildcats in front on 37 minutes, but they were unable to hold out until half time as their hosts at Littlemarsh fashioned an equaliser on 44 minutes when Dale Rowland netted for 1-1.
Jamie Rowe making his first appearance of the season for the Wildcats regained the lead for the visitors in the 70th minute.
But like the first half they were unable to defend to the final whistle and with a minute remaining Dale Rowland grabbed his second of the evening to give White Horse their draw and a point which may yet prove to be vital in their battle quest for the runners-up spot.
