PIG & Whistle United came from 2-1 to beat Worton & Cheverell 3-2 at Awdry Avenue to keep alive their slim hopes of piping both Christian Malford and North Star B to the runners-up spot in Division Three.
Graham Griffiths saw his opener for Pig & Whistle cancelled out by Declan Blandford and when Jake Flower put Worton 2-1 at the interval, the thoughts of United’s manager Richard Allen must have gone back to Sunday when he saw his team surrender a lead against leaders Melksham Cosmos before going on to lose.
Tuesday evening saw a reversal in their fortune as they fought back in the second half to claim a victory, a second from Graham Griffiths squared things up before Rob O’Harrow netted the winner for the home team.
