LACOCK FC will face second division stablemates Trowbridge Town Reserves in the EJ Shanley & Sons-sponsored Spring Cup final this Friday evening at WESTBURY UNITED'S Meadow Lane Ground.

A 3-1 victory for Joe Martin’s side at home to Westwood News kept the villagers' hopes of a possible quadruple alive.

Lacock, who were crowed Division Two champions many weeks ago, had already beaten Westwood 3-1 and 5-0 this term and went into the game as favourites.

But with both sides missing key players it was anybody’s game and so it proved as Lacock, who led 1-0 at the break thanks to Jake Marshall’s scrambled effort after just two minutes, were pegged back within two minutes of the restart when Josh Maguire turned in a Ben Cowdrey cross to restore parity.

After this Westwood grew in confidence and they went close to taking the lead with Maguire firing just wide and Ashley Styles hitting the bar from a deflected shot.

Lacock managed to weather the Westwood storm and got themselves back in front on 78 minutes when Stuart Tutty headed in from a corner.

Lacock had the lead but were made to work hard to hold onto it before finally sealing a hat-trick of victories over the newsmen thanks to a delightful headed effort from Simon Gray who made it 3-1 in the 84th minute.
