6:30pm

Chippenham Town chief Mark Collier on today's 3-2 loss to Hungerford Town:

"We knew they'd come at us all guns blazing in the second half and that was the way it panned out really.

"When we looked around, there wasn't a lot we could do personnel-wise to change it because we were down to two outfield subs.

"Still, it's disappointing that we haven't got anything out of the game.

"There are a lot of positives to take out of the game for us and for next season but sometimes we have to make sure that we're mentally stronger when things are going against us.

"Sometimes you have to batten down the hatches and get together but overall, we feel a little bit hard done by."

Collier also confirmed that striker Alan Griffin remains a doubt for next weekend's trip to St Neots Town after suffering an allergic reaction to some antibiotics.

Wiltshire Times: Mark Collier's Chippenham Town could stave off relegation this weekend

5:47pm

We'll have reaction from Chippenham Town manager Mark Collier coming up soon

4:56pm

And that brings proceedings to an end.

A stirring first half performance from Chippenham couldn't prevent the Bluebirds coming out on the receiving end of a Hungerford comeback.

The visitors found that extra gear to ressurrect their play-off hopes and eventually ran out 3-2 winners.

4:51pm

CHIPPENHAM TOWN 2 HUNGERFORD TOWN 3

4:48pm

But there is a chance late on for the Bluebirds, with Tindle heading over the bar from a Guthrie delivery

4:46pm

Hungerford are doing everything they can to run the clock down now. We're into added time

4:41pm

Joe McClennan comes off for Jake Simpson

4:39pm

You have to take your hat off to Hungerford - their play-off hopes looked dead and buried at half-time - but it's very tough on Chippenham, who have more than held their own for most of the afternoon.

Can Collier's men provide a final twist with around eight minutes remaining?

4:37pm

It's so harsh on Chippenham as the game is flipped on its head within a matter of minutes.

Hungerford stream forward on the counter-attack and the ball is worked out wide to the overlapping Stow, who side-foots onto the post.

The ball bounces back across the line, allowing the full-back to clip a cross back to the far post and Stefan Brown scoops into the net on the turn

4:35pm

4:34pm

But the pressure tolls and Hungerford get their equaliser.

Hopper works the ball inside to James Clark and Kauppinen just can't stop his his powerful volley from creeping over the line

4:33pm

4:32pm

After being set-up by Harris, McClenna jinks into the area before flashing a dangerous ball over the crossbar

4:30pm

Hungerford's Matt Day is booked for barging over Guthrie

4:28pm

Up the other end, Harris has a shooting opportunity but drags the ball wide of the far post

4:28pm

It's pulsating stuff at the moment, with Hungerford throwing everything into getting back onto level terms and the Bluebirds being forced to defend from all angles.

Crucually, it's still 2-1 to Chippenham.

4:26pm

Another big chance comes Hungerford's way! Tindle is claiming that he was pushed over as a high ball bounces over into the path of Mark Draycott but referee John Law is unmoved.

The Crusaders striker goes for the top corner with an early strike but watches his effort loop over the bar

4:20pm

There's a bit of handbags in the area after Hungerford's Goodger catches Kauppinen as he claims a high ball from a corner.

Greg Tindle, who squared up to the Crusaders striker, is booked, along with Goodger.

4:17pm

It looks as though Leigh has filled in on the left wing, with Guthrie going in behind Harris and McClennan dropping back to the right flank

4:15pm

Corey King has picked up a knock and is forced off, with defender Tyron Leigh coming on

4:14pm

The visitors have their tails up after reducing the deficit. They piled on the pressure from the restart and Brown works his way into the box before forcing Shane Blackmore to scoop away ove rhis own crossbar!

4:12pm

We've got a game on - Hungerford pull a goal back.

Full-back Stow goes on a jinking run and clips a ball to the back post, where Stefan Brown nods in to make it 2-1.

4:10pm

CHIPPENHAM TOWN 2 HUNGERFORD TOWN 1

4:10pm

Hungerford have made a change, with Harry Goodger coming on for Alan O'Brien, and are now operating with three up front

4:05pm

A high ball drops into the paht of Harris and with the striker on a hat-trick, he goes for a speculative volley but gets his effort all wrong

4:01pm

Iain Harvey is booked early on for a late, late challenge on Luke Brewer

4:00pm

And Hungerford get us back underway for the second half

3:59pm

And here come Chippenham

3:56pm

Hungerford emerge first for the second period, a few minutes early

3:52pm

Meanwhile, the injured Rob Dean has just been presented with a payment of £1000 raised to aid his rehabilitation, which has been raised in recent weeks.

3:51pm

And that brings to an end a superb first 45 minutes from Chippenham Town.

They've defended resolutely and scored two fantastic goals to carve out a fine 2-0 lead at the halfway point of their final home game of the season.

Play-off chasing Hungerford have been shell-shocked and will surely come out all guns blazing in the second period as they look to keep their play-off hopes alive!

3:49pm

3:47pm

Chippenham grab a second and it's almost a carbon copy of the first!

Hungerford defeder Matt Day mis-kicks, allowing McClennan to superbly turn a ball around the corner for King.

The winger delivers into the box again from the right and it's the same result as a few minutes ago, with Harris smacking home his and the home side's second of the afternoon

3:45pm

CHIPPENHAM TOWN 2 HUNGERFORD TOWN 0

3:43pm

But Hungerford go close to levelling things up. A missed clearance allows Brown to cross to the arriving Clark, who fires not far wide of the far post

3:41pm

Chippenham get in behind again but fail to make it 2-0! McClennan is slid in by Guthrie but the Bluebirds man gets caught inbetween going for goal himself and setting up Harris, with the ball rolling out harmlessly

3:39pm

A super goal has the Bluebirds in front and the celebrations matched it, with almost every Bluebirds play getting involved.

What have play-off chasing Hungerford got now?

3:38pm

But Chippenham take the lead with a ruthless counter-attack.

Kauppinen releases the ball quickly and King glazes down the right wing, breezing past Hungerford full-back Nick Stanley.

The winger gets into the box and plays a decisive early cross, allowing Jake Harris to toe-poke home his first Bluebirds goal.

3:36pm

3:36pm

The visitors are exerting a bit of pressure at the moment

3:29pm

Hungerford go close to opening the scoring as Luke Brewer smacks an effort goalwards from outside the area but keeper Kent Kauppinen claws away.

From the resulting corner, Jon Boardman's header is nodded on again by Stefan Brown but he heads wide of the target from a great position

3:24pm

It's pretty much 'even stevens' thus far at Chippenham. Visitors Hungerford have put together a few nice passing moves but the goalscoring opportunities have all fallen to the home side.

Around 25 minutes gone and it's still goalless

3:17pm

McClennan fizzes in a set-piece delivery and Greg Tindle rises highest to head goalwards but Strudley deals with the effort well

3:09pm

Another chances comes Chippenham's way!

McClennan picks out King in the box with a superb flicked pass and the Bluebirds winger instinctively goes for goal with the outside of his right foot but the effort is gathered by Crusaders goalie Paul Strudley.

3:05pm

This game has started at a decent tempo and a great chance for the Bluebirds goes begging.

McClennan gets in down the left flank and bursts into the box before cutting the ball back across the six-yard box.

Harris is arriving but, under pressure, the cut-back rolls just behind him

2:59pm

From the kick off, it looks like McClennan will play off Harris, with King down the right wing and Pete Monks operating down the other flank.

And from an early corner kick, Hungerford's Dean Stow nods off the line!

2:58pm

And we're off!

2:58pm

Chippenham will kick us off, going from left-to-right

2:55pm

And out they come!

2:55pm

The two teams are on their way into the tunnel at Hardenhuish Park

2:43pm

A sneak-peek at those 'Deano' t-shirts here:

2:40pm

There's around 20 minutes til kick-off here at Chippenha,.

2:37pm

The Bluebirds are a little bit down the bare bones for their penultimate game of the season - they could certainly do without picking up any more injuries!

It looks as though the hosts will be lining up 4-5-1 this afternoon, with Jake Harris leading the line.

Corey King or Joe McClennan could push forward from midfield to support though, with James Guthrie, who has played through the centre of midfield in recent weeks, more naturally suited to playing on the wing.

2:34pm

2:30pm

The teams are in.

Midfielder Iain Harvey makes his first start since January 11 whilst Chippenham Park regular Shane Blackmore also starts.

Skipper Alan Griffin is ruled out however, whilst Lee Phillips and Bryan Smith are suspended.

2:20pm

We'll bring you today's team news as soon as we get it

2:17pm

After Rob Dean's career-ending injury sustained against Hungerford earlier this season, the Chippenham players are showing their support for their stricken team-mate this afternoon by wearing black t-shirts with 'Deano 8' on the back.

I understand that midfielder Dean is here at Hardenhuish Park this afternoon, dropping in on his team-mates for the first time since his injury.

2:14pm

Today's visitors are two points outside of the play-off positions – can the Bluebirds throw a spanner in the works again?

2:14pm

But there was disappointment for both sides on Saturday, with Chippenham slipping to a disappointing 3-1 loss at Hitchin Town and Hungerford being thrashed 4-0 as Hemel Hempstead Town got their hands on the title.

2:13pm

In last Thursday's rearranged meeting at Bulpitt Lane, the Bluebirds picked up a creditable 1-1 draw against their play-off chasing opponents.

2:13pm

So it's a final home clash of the season for Mark Collier's Chippenham as they renew acquaintances with Berkshire rivals Hungerford for the second time in five days.
