I RECENTLY made a return trip to Africa to play two Sunshine Tour events, the Telkom PGA Championship in Johannesburg and the Zimbabwe Open in Harare.
Having finished sixth at the Telkom event last year, I was looking to replicate that result.
However, rounds of 70, 74 , 72 and 72 left me in a tie for 52nd place, although it was a cut made after missing three of them in a row at the start of the year.
The Monday after the Telkom event I was booked on a flight Harare at 2pm.
Turning up at the airport at noon, I was told the flight was over-sold, resulting in me being pushed back to the 8.30pm flight and an eight-hour wait at Johannesburg Airport.
I feel like I spend half my life there.
Arriving at Harare I found one of the best golf courses I have played and rounds of 70 71 meant I was playing again at the weekend.
Following up with 68 and 71 meant a tie for 15th place.
I am also pleased to announce that Cumberwell Park have joined mas one of my sponsors again.
I am also searching for local companies who may like to join me as a sponsor.
