IT WAS always likely that the battle to become Division Three champions would come down to a final shootout between Sportzcoach Dragons United and Melksham Cosmos.

The teams go into the game locked together at the top of the table with 48 points apiece.

Long-time leaders Cosmos, who won the earlier clash between the sides 3-2, know that they must win if they are to become champions whereas a draw for Sportzcoach would hand them the title due to the better goal difference.

With the battle to become champions at boiling point, the fight to stay in the division is just as intense.

Crossblades FC who are currently in the drop zone could yet beat the drop if they beat Old Road FC and other results go their way.

Old Road edged a seven-goal thriller back in October.

Trowbridge Town Supporters Club will host Pig & Whistle United knowing that there is nothing riding on the outcome of the game.

Worton & Cheverell will entertain basement side Wren FC in what is a massive game for Matt Fenn’s visitors to the The Lye, who can’t afford to lose if they are to have any chance of avoiding back-to-back relegations.
