CORSHAM began Wadworth 6X West of England League Premier One campaign with a 60-run triumph over Taunton St Andrews at Station Road on Saturday.

Put into bat, Pete Dennett's men were all out for 251 as returning Wiltshire captain Mike Coles hit 55 and wicketkeeper Steve Bullen 47. Luke Poole took 4-44 for Taunton.

Replying, the visitors were all out for 191 in 44 overs, as Jon Parker took 5-25 in just seven overs for the hosts. James Regan scored 78 for the beaten side.

Westbury won their opening-day Glos/Wilts Division derby against Warminster by 23 runs after winning the toss and electing to bat.

Helped by 43 from new skipper Alex Senneck, Westbury reached 151 before they were dismissed , Rory Cullinan (3-27) and skipper Tom Davie (3-21) taking the bulk of the wickets for the home side.

Warminster though were all out for 12, Senneck taking 4-28 off 7.5 overs to help wrap up victory.

Wesley Marshall's century helped Trowbridge make a flying start to their Wiltshire Division campaign as they saw off the challenge of promoted Purton by one wicket.

Put into bat, Purton made 229-9 from their 50 overs, Tom Bowler's 61 and an unbeaten 64 from skipper Elliot Hill providing the bultk of it.

There were three runouts, while Luke Seymour took 2-32.

Opener Marshall clubbed 106 from 109 balls, including 12 fours and a six as he and opening partner and captain for the day Mike Reynolds (69) put on 152 for the first wicket.

Marshfield saw off Winsley by five wickets, Winsley making 175-8 from their 50 overs.

Marshfield reached 177-5, Dave Jenkins scoring 79.
