THE Wiltshire derbies in the Wadworth 6X West of England League's Glos/Wilts Division both went the way of the home sides, Biddestone and Chippenham, against Westbury and Warminster respectively.

Dwaine Perry struck 73 in Biddestone's 181-5 against Westbury, for whom David Wade took 3-35.

Naeem Khan's 4-25 proved decisive in the reply, which came up short on 124 all out, Ben Whiting top scoring with 30.

There were two wickets each for Stuart Kingwell and Perry.

Chippenham clinched their first victory of the season as their bowlers paved the way for three-wicket success over Warminster at Hardenhuish Park.

Trevor Lloyd's 3-12 in six overs led the home side's bowling effort as Warminster were dismissed for 136 in 44 overs, Richard Bates and George Read both claiming two victims.

Despite losing wickets steadily through their reply, 52 in56 balls from wicketkeeper Billy Cookson underpinned the run chase, Tom Young adding 39 as Chippenham reached their target in the 36th over, despite 3-29 from Rory Cullinan.

Potterne took over at the top of the Premier Two table as they took advantage of Clevedon's defeat to maintain their own unbeaten run with a four-wicket success at Cheltenham.

Having put their hosts in and after a delayed start due to a wet outfield, the villagers bowled them for 188 in 43 overs as Josh De Souza and Stan Alsop took three wickets each, Alsop's treble coming in just two overs for the loss of six runs.

A 98-run partnership between Sahan Wijerathne (70) and skipper Neil Clark (52) proved decisive in the reply.

Opener Luke De Souza also scored 35 as Potterne got to 192-6 in the final over.

Goatacre's match at Minehead was cancelled.

Corsham found Taunton Deane's batsmen too hot to handle at Station Road as they slipped to an 80-run defeat, their third of the season.

Electing to bat, Deane rattled up 312-5 from their 50 overs, thanks mainly to substantial innings from number three John Rogers and number four Jack Leach.

Rogers clubbed 95 from 66 balls, including 12 fours and six sixes, while Leach fell one short of his century before being run out by Mike Coles.

Wicketkeeper Sam Shaikh's unbeaten 63 further boosted the visitors' total as Joe King took two wickets for the home side.

Virtually all of the Corsham top order made starts in the reply, but no one could progress beyond Ashur Morrison's 47 from 30 balls, openers Toby Davies and Michael Coles being the next best.

Rob Pryke took 4-54 as the home sde were all out for 232 in the 49th over.

Great Bedwyn won the top of the table battle in the Wiltshire Division as they cruised to a nine-wicket victory at Marshfield.

Putting their opponents in, Bedwyn blasted through the home order, dismissing their hosts for 103 inside 31 overs.

Only James Williams, with 30, and Jeremy Bond's 28 stood up as Richard Bosson took 4-35 and there were two wickets each for Robert Palmer, Max Andrews and Ashley Perry.

The run chase proved a rather trouble-free affair as Rob Palmer hit an unbeaten 54 in 40 balls, including six fours and four sixes to help Bedwyn home in the 22nd over.

Marlborough moved into second place as they despatched Devizes by 134 runs.

The visitors posted 212-6 having elected to bat, Pete Day scoring 77 before Devizes were dismissed for just 78 by the 29th over.

Calne claimed a welcome first victory of the season as they got the better of Trowbridge at Beversbrook.

Putting the visitors in, Calne bowled them out for just 137 in 29 overs, despite a knock of 59 in 46 balls from Trowbridge opener Wes Marshall.

Julian Kearney took 4-61 for the home side, with Sean Adams taking 3-20.

Adams then played the pivotal role in the reply, smashing an unbeaten 92 from 68 deliveries, including 14 fours and three sixes as Calne got home for the loss of four wickets in the 25th over.

Burbage & Easton Royal opener Michael Papps hit 128 off 135 balls in his side's 101-run triumph at Winsley.

The New Zealander's innings helped his side to 294-5 and Thilina Batangala added 47 to set a target that proved beyond the hosts.

Winsley lost wickets steadily in the reply, Robbie Cross top-scoring with 55 as they were all out for 193, James Lavis taking 4-29.

Tom Bowler's century allowed Purton to crush Nationwide House by 133 runs, skipper Elliot Hill adding an unbeaten 92.

Bowler then took 6-23 and Aakarshit Gomel 3-20 as the reply petered out to 97 all out.
