TROWBRIDGE sprinter Danny Talbot handed England's Commonwealth Games selectors another timely reminder of his skills yesterday by running the year's fastest 200m time by a British athlete yesterday.

The 23-year-old, who is hoping to earn a spot in the English squad for July's Commonwealths, ran a new personal best of 20.36 as he won the 200m at the Josef Odložil Memorial in Prague on Monday.

Talbot's storming time is the 14th-fastest in the all-time British records and the Wiltshire star has also been selected to race the 100m at the European Team Championships in Germany later this month.

Talbot, who represented Great Britain in the 4x100m relay at the London 2012 Olympics, is due to compete at a Diamond League meeting in Oslo tomorrow.
