TROWBRIDGE Hot Chilli Triathlon’s golden girl, Jane Hansom completed an emphatic start to the season with a stunning win at the Windsor Triathlon.
Hansom honed preparations for this weekend’s ITU European Age Group Triathlon Championships in Kitzbuhel Austria at the event, one of the top competitions in the triathlon calendar.
Having qualified for the World Ironman 70.3 Championships and the World Age Group Olympic Distance Championships, both in Canada in September, Hansom destroyed the women’s field, winning by more than seven minutes as well as coming eighth overall.
Hot Chilli’s Mike Wainstein will join club colleagues Hansom and Dave Walder at the ITU World Age Group Championship in Canada in Edmonton, Canada, in September.
Meanwhile, Hot Chillis junior members have also tasted early-season success, eight year old Ollie Smith finishing overall winner at the Triathlon Pink event at the University of Bath.
Brother Will and Dan Lewis also took part.
