WILTSHIRE closed day one of their Unicorns Championship Western Division clash against Dorset ina good position at Corsham yesterday.

The home side, yet to taste defeat in what has been a superb summer so far, had their visitors at 153-4 having been dismissed for 332 in their innings earlier in the day.

Dorset won the toss and put their hosts into bat, openers Jayden Levitt (53) and Henry Langford (22) putting on 81 for the first wicket.

The visiting bowlers hit back to reduce Wiltshire to 119-4 at one stage, but Potterne's Neil Clark (55) and skipper Mike Coles (58).

Corsham's Ashur Morrison (46) and wicketkeeper Adam Miles 38) then put on 71 for the seventh wicket before the innings was finally brought to a close after 75 overs, Jake Lintott taking 5-42.

Dorset openers Masoor Khan (48) and Michael Porter (26) put on 50 for the first wicket before Khan and Tom Hicks (41) added 58.

Joe King (2-56) and Ed Young (2-32) reined them in though, leaving Dorset 179 runs adrift with six wickets still intact heading into day two today.
