WILTSHIRE wrapped up their second Unicorns Championship Western Division win of the season despite some late Dorset resistance at Corsham today.

The home side finally secured a 97-run victory in mid-afternoon at Station Road after Dorset had resumed on the final day 425 runs adrift but with ten second-innings wickets in hand.

Wiltshire, who had declared their own second innings yesterday evening at 373-6 to leave their opponents with the mammoth run chase, made an early breakthrough this morning when Dorset opener Michael Porter was sent back to the pavillion by Neil Clark's catch off Tahir Afridi without any runs being added to the overnight 20 without loss.

Fellow opener Masoor Khan and Tom Hicks added 54 for the second wicket before Khan was trapped leg before by Jake Roberts and Luke Webb followed soon after, caught by Ed Young off Roberts.

Hicks was trapped leg before by Joe King for 20 to leave Dorset at 76-4 but Dominic Hand (14) and Jake Lintott (50) added a 50-run partnership before Lintott added 39 with wicketkeeper captain Chris Park.

Mark Wolstenholme and Ed Denham both went relatively cheaply but Park, whose unbeaten 87 featured 14 fours, added a useful partnership of 41 with Sam Thomson (27) for the ninth wicket.

Park and last man James Hayman then frustrated the Wiltshire attack further until Hayman was bowled by Roberts (4-58) for 42 to secure Wiltshire's triumph.

King and Henry Langford both picked up two wickets each as Wiltshire went top of the Western Division table. They travel to play Berkshire at Falkland on July 6-8.
