SPORTZCOACH Dragonz United hitman Dan Moore had a season to remember, scoring 56 goals in 24 league and cup matches to help his team claim the Division Three crown.

The 22-year-old was an ever-present for United, 52 of his goals coming in 20 league outings, failing to find the net in just three of those games.

Moore, who missed last night’s presentation due to a holiday in Ibiza, said: “I think the difference has been I’ve been playing every week.

“I was with FC Jager before but they had so many decent strikers I didn’t always get a game. I’m surprised because I only joined them (United) at the start of the season.’’ Moore also had an excellent season in front of goal for his Saturday Trowbridge & District League side Trowbridge Rangers, bagging 26 in 11 games.

In the Sunday league, he scored three or more goals in 12 of games, four goals in one game on six occasions and put five past Wren FC on the opening day of the season.

His four cup goals helped Sportzcoach to the semi-finals of the WG Parr Trophy, where they lost out to eventual winners The Castle FC.

Before going on holiday last weekend, he received a trophy, certificate and £100 of sports vouchers from the Gazette & Herald, the sister paper of the Wiltshire Times.
