CORSHAM’S fine form continued last weekend as the Station Road men notched up their third straight victory in the West of England Premier League Premier One.

Pete Dennett’s side, who had beaten high-flying Frocester and Bath in their last two outings, claimed a hat-trick of wins as they won by 35 runs at Bristol.

Wiltshire captain Mike Coles top-scored for the visitors with a knock of 72 whilst Ashur Morrison also chipped in with 68 as Corsham posted 230-6 after a rain-reduced 46 overs.

Tom Foley and Paul Robbins then both took two wickets apiece to hamper Bristol’s run chase, with the home side falling short as they only made 195-9 before time ran out.

Elsewhere, Westbury suffered a four-wicket defeat at the hands of county rivals Chippenham in the Glos/Wilts Division.

In a rain-reduced encounter, 2-22 from Chippenham’s George Reed helped restrict Westbury to 124-7 after 25 overs, despite Ben Whiting and Tom Cullen both hitting 33.

The hosts’ Richard Oakley attempted to launch a fightback as he took 3-27 but Arran Merryweather (30) helped guide Chippenham to 125-6 early in the 23rd over.

Meanwhile, Warminster suffered a five-wicket reverse at the hands of high-flying Lechlade.

In the Wiltshire Division, Trowbridge’s home clash with league leaders Great Bedwyn was abandoned after 37 overs, with the visitors having notched up 169-4 before the clash was called off just three overs into the hosts' innings.

There wasn’t a ball bowled at Winsley, who saw their game against Nationwide House rained off.
