WARMINSTER Town joint-boss Derek Graham reckons that his side suffered from a lack of old heads as they came unstuck at Cheddar on Tuesday night.

The home side took the lead after Beau Blakeman conceded a penalty and when the Warminster midfielder was handed the chance to redeem himself after Sam Babtunde was brought down at the other end, Blakeman missed his own opportunity from the spot.

Cheddar went on to score from two more set-pieces before Jack Miluk pulled a goal back for Graham and Andy Crabtree’s men.

“With the players we’ve got injured, we had 16-year-olds and 17-year-olds playing. We had seven players under the age of 21 starting,” said the Warminster joint-chief.

“These lads are being blooded early and there’s no doubt that some of them will go on to be first-team starters but we were just lacking that bit of strength - otherwise, it wasn’t a bad performance at all.”

On Saturday, Steve Perkins scored as Warminster drew 1-1 with Roman Glass.
