WEST Wiltshire sides Spencer Moulton (Bradford on Avon) and Holt have made good starts at Royal Leamington Spa in their bids for glory in the men’s Bowls England National Championships.

In the triples championship Spencer Moulton trio of Russell Francis, Andy Colebrooke and former England international Graham Shadwell won their preliminary round match 18-11 beating Romford (Essex) and then followed that up with a first round 24-16 success over Silloth (Cumbria).

In round two they will meet Surrey side Wandilea (Earlsfield).

Holt are also through to the second round and a meeting with Chester Road, Worcester. In round one the triple of Wayne Simmonds, Wayne Snook and Ben Gadd enjoyed an 16-12 victory over Melton (Suffolk).
