New boy Nick Auterac says that Bath’s commitment to personal development has impressed him in his short time with the club.

The 21-year-old prop agreed to join the Rec in January alongside Henry Thomas and has finally linked up with his new team this summer after leaving Saracens.

Auterac, who has also represented England at U20 level, has already added a handful of tips and tricks to his armoury this summer and says that training alongside the likes of Wales international Paul James has begun to benefit his game.

“The coaches here help you work on your game as part of a team and also as an individual,” said Auterac.

“They’re very driven to do that and if you want to work on something specific, like passing for example, then you can spend time working on that.

“I’ve done a lot of work with Neal Hatley (forward  coach) and he’s already noticed a few things that I can improve on.

“I’m also training alongside experienced guys like Paul James, who doesn’t mind telling me ‘Nick, try this’ and helping me out with things, which is also helping me too.

“It’s been exciting so far and I’m looking forward to the start of the season.”

McDonald, who was previously the club’s finance and strategy director, has stepped into the role with immediate effect whilstowner Bruce Craig becomes of executive chairman following Nick Blofeld’s decision to step down from his position as CEO for a wider group role.
