BRADFORD worked hard to match Wimborne’s effort but ultimately ran out of steam as the match wore on and allowed the visitors to win with something to spare.

The match had started so brightly, with Josh Felix capping some early pressure by slotting home a penalty.

Wimborne responded with pressure of their own a levelled the game with a penalty.

Bradford were then forced to dig deep in defence as the visitors began to exert more pressure on the home side’s back line.

Despite a strong rearguard action Bradford could not hold out and a chip over the flat defence for a well earned score but the visitors in command.

The gap was widened when Wimborne went wide and with BOA defence too narrow scored out again.

But there was a glimmer of hope for the home side when Felix split the defence to put debut boy Charlie Burwell in for an excellent in the corner.

Felix converted superbly from the touch line and Bradford had something to play for again.

But the second half started woefully with Wimborne claiming their own kick and scored a soft try.

Bradford responded and Felix was put in for a fine try following great build up play from Cam Dewar, which Felix converted.

The next few minutes were frantic and both sides made mistakes under pressure. Bradford had a try ruled out, which caused much confusion because it was brought back for a home penalty.

The effort was too much for Bradford and Wimborne finished strongly as the hosts ran out of steam. The visitors added two more tries before end to make the victory more emphatic.

Despite the defeat Bradford can take heart from an improved performance. This weekend they travel to near neighbours Corsham for a much-anticipated derby.
