MELKSHAM hit back from a poor start to claim victory in Dorset & Wilts One North.
Devizes made the brighter start with two tries from kick and chase in the first ten minutes.
Melksham forced their way upfield and a penalty at the close of the half from Simon Foster got them on the board.
A spirited half-time talk from captain Callum Hurn brought a focused Melksham effort and they didn’t have wait long before Joe Hargreaves received quick ball at centre to show his strength and evade the defence.
Foster added the conversion and Melksham continued to control the half.
Jack Briggs powered in with a pushover try on his debut game, Foster adding the extras. Then winger Callum Gillard, also on his debut, passed to Phil Stone to seal the victory, Foster again converting.
