DEREK Graham was delighted to see Warminster Town tackle Chard Town’s infamous slope and claim their biggest win of the season so far last weekend.

Graham and Andy Crabtree’s men ran out comfortable 4-0 winners in Somerset, with Tom Welch scoring twice whilst Alex Lapham and Otis Young were also on target.

“We went to Chard with a game plan on how to cope with the slope and came up trumps,” said the Weymouth Street joint-manager.

“Because the majority of the team is very young, they do now listen to our instructions, and it all went to plan.

“We should have scored a couple more as we ran their defence ragged in the last quarter of the game, as they couldn't handle our super midfield.

“Man of the match is very difficult as all of the players did well, with (Charlie) Walton and Lapham exceptional, but Otis Young deserves a mention as he had a hand in everything going forward and certainly made a difference to our ability to score.”

After briging their three-match losing run to an emphatic end at Chard, Warminster go looking to build on that victory when they host Cribbs in the Toolstation League First Division this weekend.
