THERE were times in this match when it looked like Frome might get something out of it, but in the end Cirencester won 3-1, despite playing the last quarter with ten men after Aidan Bennet was shown a second yellow card.

An uninspired first half saw Frome go close twice though Lewis Haldane, in both cases taking the ball round Glyn Garner, but always being thwarted by covering defenders .

Cirencester took the lead in the 18th minute as Josh Parsons hit a free kick low hard into the corner of the Frome net, and they held the lead until half time.

Haldane’s strength and experience showed in the 51st as he muscled his way onto a Matt Smith pass to shoot past Garner for the equaliser, but Cirencester made it 2-1 in the 73rd minute as Gethin Jones headed home a flicked on long throw.

Despite losing Bennett for a crunching tackle on Cameron Brown, Cirencester always had the edge towards the end, and after a fine Parsons run saw him taken down in the Frome area, he picked himself up to score in the corner and complete Frome’s misery.
